Mausumi Chakraborty, senior officer of the Indian Information Service, took over as Director General of Radio News . 1991 batch of I.I.S.  Officer, Mrs. Chakraborty has extensive experience working in several media organizations of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting including Press Information Bureau and Central Communications Bureau.

 In her career of more than three decades, she was the Private Secretary to the Cabinet Minister at the National Human Rights Commission.
