Indians top the list of remittances from abroad.  The United Nations Migration Agency said that by 2022, $111 billion will be sent to India from other countries, the highest of any country in the world.  With remittances of $111 billion, India has become the first country to cross the $100 billion mark.  There are about 20 million overseas Indians living in other countries, who send billions of dollars to their families every year in what are called remittances.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday (May 7) released its 2024 World Migration Report, which revealed that India, Mexico, China, the Philippines and France are the top five countries receiving the most remittances.  Pakistan and Bangladesh are also in the top 10 list.  Four Asian countries are among the top 10 recipients of remittances.
