Digital Media Journalists Forum Assam General Meeting at Guwahati Press Club

 The newly formed Digital Media Journalists Forum held a general meeting at the Guwahati Press Club on Wednesday.  The meeting was chaired by the President of the Convening Committee of the Digital Media Journalists Forum and senior journalist Bedbrat Bora.  Senior journalist Pranab Bora spoke about various problems and legal aspects faced by digital media journalists.  In addition, senior journalist Amal Dutta and Bidhayak Das delivered important speeches on the importance and role of digital media in the present day.The meeting was attended by more than half a hundred journalists and journalists from various digital media outlets from eight districts of the state and Guwahati.
 The meeting also discussed in detail the possible Digital Media Act of the Union Government.  Dhruvajyoti Dhanantari explained various technical aspects of digital media.The meeting was chaired by Nabajyoti Kalita, General Secretary, Convening Committee of Digital Media Journalists Forum.
 The General Meeting adopted several resolutions to further dynamize and strengthen the Digital Media Journalists Forum.  The proposal was adopted to form the main committee in February next year to establish the Digital Media Journalists Forum at the state level.  The Chief Minister and the Assembly to inform digital media journalists about the laws applicable to journalism, set up a law cell to provide legal assistance if necessary, apply to the government for government advertisements to digital media operating under certain rules and regulations . The meeting also discussed the establishment of an office of the Digital Media Journalists Forum in Guwahati in the coming days, recruitment of new members and bringing together digital media journalists from different districts.
