BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma has resigned from his post.  He sent his resignation to BCCI Secretary Jai Shah who accepted it.  After the sting operation of Zee News, Chetan Sharma has decided to leave his post.  He had made many sensational revelations in the sting operation including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sourav Ganguly and injections for fitness.
In the sting of Zee News, Chetan Sharma made big revelations on many issues including matters related to selection issues, Kohli-Ganguly controversy, fitness of players, after which he got embroiled in controversies.  Chetan Sharma revealed in front of Zee Media's hidden camera that players in Team India get fitness certificate by taking injections.  Along with this, Chetan Sharma also disclosed on selecting and dropping the players of Team India.
Former Indian cricketer Chetan Sharma was earlier dropped after a poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2022 played in Australia in November last year.  However, he was later retained.  While Chetan Sharma was the chief selector, Team India's performance was also very poor.  Team India could not win a single ICC trophy during the tenure of Chetan Sharma.
