Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who created history by becoming the first Indian to visit the International Space Station (ISS), has been awarded India's highest peacetime gallantry award, the Ashoka Chakra.
In June last year, 41-year-old Group Captain Shukla became the second Indian to fly to space. He flew to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Axiom-4 mission.
