Piyush Anand has been given a one-year extension as Director General of the National Defence Force.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to extend the tenure of Shri Piyush Anand, a senior officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), Uttar Pradesh cadre, 1991 batch, as Director General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).According to the official order, Shri Anand’s tenure has been extended for a period of one year beyond 30 March 2026, i.e., up to 30 March 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
