The Kalpetta Judicial District in Wayanad, Kerala, has become India's first completely paperless district court system.
All courts in the district judiciary will operate completely paperless, from the filing of a case to the final order. From the initiation of a case, the pre-trial stage, the recording of evidence, intermediate proceedings, and the final verdict, every judicial process will be conducted digitally.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) judicial support tools have also been integrated into the district court management system. This system is capable of generating structured case summaries from digital records, making it easier for judges to view the factual and procedural background of cases.
