Maharashtra government has announced "Project Mahadev," marking a new revolution in sports and youth development. This initiative aims to promote football in the state and nurture the talent of players, especially those in the under-13 and under-14 age groups. Through this project, young people will not only receive modern training and technical skills, but will also receive opportunities to compete on national and international platforms.
Project Mahadev focuses on comprehensive youth training and talent identification. New talent is selected through trials held in urban and rural areas of the state. Selected players receive training in modern football techniques, tactics, and sportsmanship under the guidance of expert coaches. The scheme includes a five-year scholarship and financial support, ensuring the safe and sustainable development of the selected players' careers.
A total of 60 players—30 boys and 30 girls—are selected each year under this project.
