The new head coach of the Indian women's hockey team has been announced. Sjoerd Marijne, who led the Indian team to a fourth-place finish at the Tokyo Olympics, has been reappointed as the team's head coach. Marijne will replace Harendra Singh, who resigned in December last year following the team's disappointing performance and allegations of his arbitrary coaching approach. The 51-year-old Marijne, who was with the team from 2017 to 2021, will be joined by Matias Vila as strategic coach. South African Wayne Lombard is also returning to the Indian hockey team, serving as scientific advisor and head of athletic performance.
