Lieutenant General Harpal Singh takes over as the 29th Director General of the BRO

Senior Indian Army officer Lieutenant General Harpal Singh has assumed charge as the 29th Director General of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). He succeeds Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan, who was the 28th Director General of the BRO and retired on December 31, 2025. This responsibility comes at a time when the importance of roads, bridges, and other strategic infrastructure in border areas is steadily increasing.

Lieutenant General Harpal Singh is considered a seasoned officer of the Corps of Engineers, with over three decades of military experience. During his career, he has held command, staff, and leadership positions in various parts of the country.
