The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, has appointed Aliawati Longkumer as the next Ambassador of India to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea).
An Indian Foreign Service officer of the 2008 batch, Longkumer is currently serving as the Charge d’Affaires ad interim at the Indian Embassy in Paraguay. According to the official announcement made by the MEA today, he is expected to take up his new assignment in Pyongyang shortly.
