On 6th June 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inagurated the Chenab Rail Bridge, recognised as the world’s highest railway bridge, along with India’s first cable-stayed rail bridge, the Anji Khad Bridge. These developments signal the completion of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) Project.

The Chenab Bridge is recognised as the world’s highest railway arch bridge, standing at an elevation of 359 meters (1,178 feet) above the Chenab River.
