Mock drill will be conducted across the country on May 7

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, tensions are at their peak in the relations between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has asked all the states to organize a mock drill on May 7. A circular has been sent by the Home Ministry to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and union territories. It gives information about the measures to be taken during the mock drill. It says that the government has decided to organize civil defense exercises and rehearsals in 244 districts of the country on May 7. The letter said, 'The exercise has been planned to be organized up to the village level. The purpose of this exercise is to assess and enhance the preparedness of the civil defense mechanism in all the states and union territories.'
Mock drill is a kind of practice. It is conducted in case of emergency situations like natural disaster, fire, terrorist attack or other crisis.
