British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has dismissed Home Minister Suella Braverman. Who accused the police of being too lenient towards pro-Palestine protesters.
The government says Braverman left her post on Monday as part of a cabinet reshuffle. According to the AP report, pressure was increasing on Sunak to fire Braverman. It is noteworthy that Braverman had targeted the Metropolitan City Police, accusing it of not dealing strictly with the demonstrations in London after the start of Israel-Hamas conflict.
Braverman said London's police force was ignoring law-breaking by the pro-Palestinian mob. She had described the protesters calling for a ceasefire in Gaza as spreading hatred. After her statement, some people from the opposition party as well as her own party were demanding her removal.
