Jaishankar and British PM Rishi Sunak met on the day of Diwali

S Jaishankar in UK: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murthy at 10 Downing Street, London.  Jaishankar, on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extended Diwali wishes to the British PM.  The Foreign Minister has reached London with his wife Kyoko Jaishankar.  Jaishankar gifted an idol of Lord Ganesha and a cricket bat signed by cricketer Virat Kohli to British PM Sunak.
S Jaishankar also shared the pictures of the meeting on social media platform X.  Also gave information about the meeting.  He wrote, 'Happy to meet Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Diwali.  Gave him PM Narendra Modi's best wishes.  India and Britain are actively working on reimagining relations for contemporary times.  Thank you to PM Sunak and his wife for their warm welcome and grand hospitality.'
Actually, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is on an official visit to Britain, where he has to meet his British counterpart James Cleverly.  Jaishankar's tour started on Saturday, which is going to end on November 15.  Jaishankar is going to meet many prominent dignitaries on this visit to Britain.  Recently, the Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the growing bilateral partnership between India and the UK, with a focus on the launch of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2021.
