The Munin Barkataki Memorial Foundation announced the annual Munin Barkataki Literature Award, 2023 in memory of the
well-known writer, critic and journalist
late Munin Barkataki. The award was announced in a statement by the Munin Barkataki Memorial Foundation.
The 29th Munin Barkataki Literature Award 2023 has been awarded to Nayanjyoti Sharma, a promising young storyteller in Assamese language for his collection of short stories 'Jal Kata Jui' . The award, which has been given since 1995 to encourage new writers in the Assamese language, includes a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, a memento and a citation.
