Arrested for claiming to have designed Chandrayaan-3 lander module

Surat police in Gujarat have arrested a man who had been claiming to be an ISRO and NASA scientist for the past several years.  The man, who claimed to be a scientist, gave several interviews to the media and claimed to have designed the lander module for Chandrayaan-3, police said.  When the police investigated his claims, he could not provide any proof that he was a scientist and was arrested.
 According to information, the accused Mitul Trivedi runs tuition classes in Surat.  He told this lie to increase the number of students who were studying tuition.  The accused fake scientist, Mitul Trivedi, has studied up to M.Com.  He had been lying for the past several years.  Mitul also claimed to have played a key role in Chandrayaan-2.
 Police registered an FIR against the fake scientist under IPC sections 419 (cheating by impersonation), 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery with intent to cheat), and 471 (using forged document as genuine).  Additional Commissioner of Police Sharad Singhal said Trivedi is a private teacher who used to present himself to the media as an ISRO scientist to attract students to his tuition classes.
