Zero Shadow Day: From an astronomical perspective, August 18th is an amazing day. India has witnessed a very unique astronomical phenomenon today. Zero Shadow Day in Bangalore, India. People did not see their shadows for a minute and a half between 12 noon and 1 pm. This situation occurs twice a year when the shadow of everything disappears. This happens because the sun's rays fall vertically for a while, causing the shadow of anything to disappear for a few moments.
Scientists say that when the sun comes to the middle of the earth, that is, exactly above, no shadow of anything is visible. It's not that the reflection isn't visible all day. The scene is visible for just a minute and a half, when the sun's rays fall perpendicular to the earth. During that time, the shadow comes right under the feet due to which the shadow is not visible.
For a few moments, no reflection of anything, including humans, is visible. This phenomenon has been observed only in the southern regions. Rajasthan does not have such a scene ie zero shadow, because the latitude of Rajasthan is 27. This phenomenon is only seen in areas below 23 latitudes.
