Death toll in Mewat violence rises to 6, 116 arrested so far; Alert from Delhi, UP to Rajasthan

The violence that started in Haryana's Mewat-Noonh on Monday spread to Gurugram.  A mob attacked a mosque here late Tuesday night, killing the cleric.  Moreover, shops were also set on fire.  Six people, including two home guards, have been killed in the violence so far.  Curfew was imposed in Noonh.  Twenty contingents of paramilitary forces have been deployed to contain the violence.  Internet was shut down in Noonh, Palwal, Manesar, Sohana and Pataudi.  The situation is now under control.  The RAF conducted flag marches at several places.  The Vishva Hindu Parishad has called a nationwide demonstration today to protest the violence.  Meanwhile, 11 districts in UP have been placed on alert in view of the violence in Haryana.  After Bharatpur in Rajasthan, Section 144 has been imposed in Alwar.
In fact, Hindu organizations in Noonh had announced to hold a Brijmandal Yatra like every year.  Permission was also sought from the administration.  It was stoned during a pilgrimage to Brijmandal on Monday.  It soon turned violent.  Hundreds of cars were set on fire.  The cyber police station was also attacked.  There was also firing.  In addition, hundreds of people were taken hostage in a temple.  People were evacuated after police intervention.  Police were also attacked.  After Noonh, stoning and firing also took place in Sohna.  The vehicles were set on fire.
