Buddha Purnima 2023: According to religious beliefs, the month of Vaishakh is considered to be the best month for devotion to Lord Narayana in Sanatan Dharma. Because of this, thousands of devotees earn merit by bathing and giving charity in holy places of pilgrimage. Bathing in holy rivers on the full moon day is of special importance. Vaishakh Shukla Purnima is called Buddha Purnima or Peepal Purnima. The full moon of every month is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe. The birth anniversary of Lord Buddha and Nirvana Day are also celebrated on the same day. Buddhists from all over the world come to Bodhgaya on Buddha Purnima.
